Bridlington Weekend of Motoring – cancelled for 2021

The Bridlington Weekend of Motoring 2020 was scheduled for Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September 2020. However, due to continuing uncertainty over the coronavirus pandemic, we have taken the decision to cancel the 2020 event.

We planned to run the Bridlington Weekend of Motoring in 2021 on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th September 2021. This is a change from the date we originally announced – we have moved the event by one week to avoid clashing with another event.

As a Motorsport UK recognised motor club, we run the Bridlington Weekend of Motoring under a Motorsport UK Certificate of Exemption and Motorsport UK’s insurance cover.

This means we have to comply with Motorsport UK’s COVID-19 protocols.

At the point when we had to make a decision whether or not to run the Bridlington Weekend of Motoring in 2021, Motorsport UK COVID-19 protocols still required the separation of competitor (in this case exhbitor) and spectator “bubbles”. We don’t believe we can sensibly run the event with those constraints in place and so have made the decision to cancel the Bridlington Weekend of Motoring for 2021.

We thank our sponsor Maple Garage Ltd.

We are running a Scenic Tour on Saturday 14th September 2019 and a car show at Sewerby Hall and Gardens on Sunday 15th September. The car show is aimed primarily at classic, modified and modern touring cars, but we also welcome any quirky or interesting vehicles.

Tickets for cars exhibiting at the show are £5 (to admit car, driver, and one passenger). The ticketing web-site is now available – see the “Exhibitor Tickets for the Show” web page. Sale of exhibitor tickets will cease at 18:00 on Saturday 14th September.

Tickets for public admission to the show (and for additional passengers in exhibiting cars) will be the normal Sewerby Hall and Gardens admission tickets, available on the gate on the day, or on-line from that page in advance.

Dogs are welcome as long as they are kept on a lead and the owners clean up after them. Dogs are not permitted in the zoo, house or play area
